n8n users usually care where data goes and who sent it. BusinessLyft signs every delivery: X-BusinessLyft-Signature is v1= followed by a hex HMAC SHA-256 of the timestamp, a dot and the raw body, keyed with your signing secret.

The timestamp travels in X-BusinessLyft-Timestamp and the delivery id in X-BusinessLyft-Delivery, which stays the same across retries.

Check the signature in a Code or Crypto node, drop repeats on the delivery id, and route the lead wherever your workflow needs it.

Setup

Connect it to n8n in 4 steps

What your webhook receives. The data object holds the inputs you defined on the action.

    In n8n, add a Webhook node set to POST, switch it to the production URL, and copy its URL.

  2. 2

    In BusinessLyft, open your assistant → Actions → New action → Webhook (or start from the “Send a lead to my CRM” template) and paste the URL.

  3. 3

    Describe when the assistant should use it, for example “Use when the visitor asks for a quote or a call back”, and add the inputs it must collect first, such as service, budget and timeline.

    Click Test to send a sample, then map the fields in n8n to wherever the lead should go.

Good to know before you start

  • Use the production URL

    n8n’s test URL only listens while you click “Listen for test event”. Switch to the production URL and activate the workflow.

  • Verify against the raw body

    Sign `${timestamp}.${rawBody}` with your secret and compare it to the value after v1=. Re-serialised JSON won’t match.

  • Your server must be public over HTTPS

    Webhooks go to public https:// URLs only, so a localhost n8n needs a tunnel or a public host.
